Museum of glass and jewelry in Jablonec nad Nisou
This wonderful museum (photos below) is a must to see for all jewelry lovers. It is located in the Czech Republic. They have been making glass beads here since the 14th century. The museum is about 2 hour ride from Prague.
In the main Art Nouveau building, you will see a unique collection of glass and metal jewelry and designer jewels, containing hundreds of thousands of beads, buttons and other accessories, but also a high-quality collection of Czech period and current designer glass, medals and plaques.
This area in Bohemia is noted for these wonderful works of art. I enjoyed looking at all the remarkable buttons and beads that were made in this area of the Czech Republic. It was a special visit for me because my grandfather was Bohemian and his family were merchants from Northern Bohemia. I will never forget my visit to this inspirational museum.
